From Camp High to Every Day Passion

Have you ever wondered why it is that we come home from camp on this incredible spiritual high only to find ourselves back to "normal" two or three weeks later, struggling with the same old sins and lacking passion? Every year I see this cycle, and every year I see 5-10 students who continue to be passionate well beyond the three weeks curse! There is a reason for this. At camp, every day you spend massive amounts of time with God, people of God, worship, and a team of people who desire for you to advance in your walk. The result of that saturation of God time is a new fresh focus on the things that really matter. when most people return home, they return to a lifestyle that has very little intimate time with God. They return to a group of friends who dont love God and they return to activities that are not God glorifying. The connection that needs to be made is that quality time with God + Godly friends + submission to leaders who want to see you succeed = a passionate pursuit of God / which is synonymous with Joy, Peace, fulfillment, etc. The opposite is also true. No time for God + friends who discourage you from loving God + aimless entertainment = crash and burn / emptiness, disappointment, etc.The recipe for spiritual success is forced at camp, but it is also available for you here in the real world. The only difference is here you have a choice. Will you develop your passion, or will you wait until metamorphosis 2010 to get things in order?
